Institutional adoption of tokenized assets depends on solving a critical infrastructure challenge: how can digital securities operate across multiple platforms, jurisdictions, and compliance regimes without recreating the vendor lock-in that has long limited legacy systems?

Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust and OpenAssets are helping establish this foundational layer through the Open Tokenized Asset Standard (OTAS), a recently approved lab focused on building protocol-agnostic standards for compliant, interoperable digital assets.

In this session, Surendra Kalidindi, CTO of OpenAssets, will start by exploring why open standards matter for institutional digital assets and how open approaches differ from proprietary tokenization platforms.

The session will be followed by a panel moderated by Daniela Barbosa, Executive Director of LF Decentralized Trust, featuring industry leaders from a global financial institution, a protocol engineering organization, and a provider of cross-chain and onchain data infrastructure. Together, they will discuss what the industry needs most to accelerate adoption, improve interoperability, and support real-world deployment at scale.

Join us to hear directly from industry leaders, learn more about initiatives like OTAS and the goals of the newly launched lab, and explore how institutions and developers can engage with the OTAS Lab, including a 2026 mentorship opportunity through LF Decentralized Trust.

**Description:**
Welcome to the weekly AI Deep Dive Webinar Series (Virtual) with Aiven and Google Cloud. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs, Agentic AI, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers & fellow developers from all over the world.

**Tech Talk: Stop Paying for Analytics. Just Use Postgres. Enterprise Scale with AI-Driven Insights**
**Speaker:** Marko Bocevski (Aiven)
**Abstract**:The database wars of the 2010s are over. HTAP? Dead. NewSQL? Dead. Streaming databases? Dead. The Cloud Data Warehouse won—but here's the twist: the innovations that made it win (separation of storage and compute, vectorized execution, columnar formats) are now everywhere.

The modern data stack is collapsing into something surprisingly simple: OLTP + Lakehouse. And at the center of it? It’s just Postgres.
In this session, We’ll explore how a massive enterprise manages complex transactional and analytical data without the "tax" of legacy warehouses.
We will demonstrate how to close the loop between transactions and intelligence:

* The Bridge: Writing from Postgres directly to Iceberg tables with zero ETL.
* The Brain: Using Large Language Models (LLMs) to query your lakehouse in natural language, gaining instant insights into complex datasets.
* The Result: A simplified architecture that replaces the "duct tape" of Debezium, Kafka, and reverse-ETL.

**What you will learn:**
You’ll walk away with:

* Enterprise Insights: How Conrad Electronic navigates data at scale using open-source patterns.
* The AI Layer: Practical workflows for using LLMs to gain insights into your transactional and analytical data.
* The Blueprint: A clear architecture for Postgres + Iceberg + AI integration.
* A live demo!

Business analysts and domain experts are building applications with AI and they expect the same infrastructure, security, and governance that professional developers get. Kaspar von Grünberg and SIXT CTO Boyan Dimitrov discuss what platform teams need to build to enable enterprise citizen developers without creating a compliance nightmare.

Join our executive roundtable focused on AI in platform engineering and what enterprise teams need to know.

In this roundtable, we'll discuss:

* Who enterprise citizen developers are, how "vibe coding" with AI differs from traditional low-code, and why this new user persona changes the scope of platform engineering.
* The technical mechanisms (golden paths, Policy-as-Code, automated guardrails, secure execution environments) that let platform teams enable thousands of non-technical builders safely at scale.
* How SIXT is thinking about the shift from platforms built for developers to platforms built for developers, agents, and business users, and what that means for platform team structure and priorities.

Join us for an evening of deep product insights and conversation with Steve Johnson, CEO of Product Growth Leaders.

Most product managers aren’t struggling because they lack frameworks, data, or AI
tools. They’re struggling because they’re talking to the wrong people. Instead of learning directly from customers, they rely on second-hand input—sales requests, executive opinions, support tickets, dashboards, and now AI-generated summaries of all of it. The result? Noise. Misalignment. And products that look good on paper but miss the market. AI can process more data than you ever will—but it can’t replace direct human understanding. It can’t see hesitation. It can’t hear what’s not being said. And it certainly can’t build trust with a customer who doesn’t believe you yet. That’s where product managers have an advantage—if they choose to use it.

In this session, you’ll learn how Customer Conversations cut through the noise and
become your most powerful differentiator. Not as a research technique, but as a
leadership behavior that builds market insight, credibility, and better decisions.
Through real stories and practical methods, you’ll learn how to:
• Talk to the right people at the right time in the product lifecycle
• Ask questions that uncover real problems
• Validate ideas before you build them
Because in a world where AI can generate answers at scale, the product manager who understands customers firsthand becomes the one who asks better questions—and makes better decisions.

AGENDA
6:00 - 6:30 pm: Welcome and Registration. Refreshments provided.
6:30 - 7:00 pm: Talk by Steve Johnson (CEO at Product Growth Leaders)
7:00 - 7:15 pm: Q&A
7:15 - 8:00 pm: Networking

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Steve Johnson is a product success coach focused on removing the chaos from product planning. He uses modern methods to guide product teams from idea to market in only a few weeks. Steve has trained tens of thousands of product professionals in his career.
He is a former instructor and vice president at Pragmatic Institute and the chief architect of the popular Quartz Open Framework.

Most teams are experimenting with AI agents. Few are running them reliably in production. This session breaks down how to move from first agent to trusted, repeatable workflows with real telemetry, strong context, and control over cost, accuracy, and scale.

Getting an AI agent to work in a demo is easy. Getting it to run reliably in production at scale, with real telemetry, without hallucinating or torching your infrastructure, is a problem entirely different. This talk maps the journey from ad hoc experimentation to trusted Production AI: build your first agent, deploy a real use case, engineer your context, and get control of your data. We'll show how AURA, an open-source agentic harness, eliminates 80% of agent-building boilerplate via simple config and how pairing it with Active Telemetry cuts investigation costs by up to 25x by delivering curated, just-in-time context instead of information bloat.

We'll cover:

* Why common agent frameworks break down at scale
* How to define repeatable agentic workflows your whole team can trust
* Why context engineering is the unlock for reliable Production AI
* A practical roadmap: from first agent to autonomous ops

**Dr. Aditya Kapoor: Assessment of Inundation Dynamics in Nebraska Using AlphaEarth Foundations**
**Embeddings**

* This study demonstrates that AlphaEarth Foundation Embeddings (AFE) provide a highly efficient, "analysis-ready" framework for mapping regional surface water inundation without the computational burden of traditional multi-source data fusion. By applying Random Forest classifiers to AFE data across 901 Nebraska lakes from 2017 to 2025, I found that this method outperformed existing products like Dynamic World, which exhibited estimation errors of up to 43.8%. The analysis revealed a critical environmental trend: a mean inundation decline of over 6,600 m² per year, closely mirroring a regional rainfall reduction of 14.18 mm/year. Ultimately, the findings highlight AFE as a scalable tool for identifying hydrological instabilities, particularly in smaller water bodies, offering significant advantages for real-world water resource planning and flood risk assessment.

DC Tech Meetup #96: AI From Demo to Deployment

Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, District of Columbia

**Let's discuss a ted talk video while taking a walk at Capital Crescent Trail Near Bethesda.**

**To receive future event updates, register on Luma:**

No one truly understands AI, not even experts, says Helen Toner, an AI policy researcher and former board member of OpenAI. But that doesn't mean we can't govern it. She shows how we can make smart policies to regulate this technology even as we struggle to predict where it's headed — and why the right actions, right now, can shape the future we want.

Here is how it works:

* Prior to the event: **Please watch this YouTube video:**
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUn8IjZKBPg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUn8IjZKBPg)
* During the event:
* 3:00pm-3:15pm: meet outside of [Chopt Salad](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ThxMNixG2TG4T32X6) (Bethesda Row end of Capital Crescent Trail) for group introduction.
* 3:15pm-4:15pm: Take a walk at Capital Crescent Trail (laps between Bethesda Row and Little Falls Parkway) and Discuss.
* (Walking Route Link: [https://scenic-walk.com/#/b712c5fa ](https://scenic-walk.com/#/b712c5fa)(During the hike, the organizer will live broadcast current location, so that people who arrive late can catch up via the [Scenic Walk Link](https://scenic-walk.com/#/b712c5fa)).
* 4:15pm - 4:30pm: Group Conclusion outside of Chopt Salad.

Discussion Questions During Walk:
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-

1. Because AI is changing so fast, it is hard to predict what new things it will be able to do next month. What steps can we take to stay open-minded and adaptable as these tools change how we learn and create?
2. There is a big debate about whether using AI helps us learn faster or makes us skip the hard work of thinking. How can we find a healthy balance between using these new tools and keeping our own minds sharp and active?
3. History shows that the people who use a technology should have a say in how it is shaped for the future. How can we ensure that our local communities have a voice in how AI is developed and used?

\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-

To provide an enjoyable experience for fellow participants, here are three ground rules during discussion events:

1. Step up and step back. (If you feel that you’ve been talking too much, step back to listen more. If you feel that you’ve been relatively quiet, step up to share your perspective or ask a question)
2. Listen to understand, not to respond.
3. Be open-minded and value differences.

Join us for a meetup exploring Hiero ([https://github.com/hiero-ledger](https://github.com/hiero-ledger)), an open-source, vendor-neutral distributed ledger technology (DLT) stack that powers the Hedera Network. In this session, Hendrik Ebbers ([https://github.com/hendrikebbers](https://github.com/hendrikebbers)) will demonstrate how easy it is to deploy a Hiero-based network for either public or private use.

The live demo will show how to spin up a network and build a simple application that connects to it using one of the available SDKs. Attendees will learn how an application communicates with the network and submits transactions in real time.

This meetup is ideal for developers interested in learning how to deploy decentralized networks and build applications that interact with them using Hiero.

**Please note: This event is being shared with our entire global community. If you're interested in this content but can't attend the event live, feel free to sign up and we will send you a link to the recording after the meetup is over.**
