**Claude Code / Codex 101**
By the end of this workshop you’ll complete **three shipped exercises**:
1. **Personal portfolio website (create + maintain + deploy)**
You’ll generate a clean site, edit it safely, push to GitHub, and deploy to a live URL (optional: custom domain + HTTPS).
2. **Landing page + signup funnel (real business asset)**
Build a simple landing page for an idea (event, service, product) with:
* clear sections (value prop, FAQ, pricing/CTA)
* a contact/signup form
* deployed live via GitHub → Render
*(This is the fastest “I can actually use this tomorrow” win.)*
3. **A tiny “Operator” web app (input → useful output)**
Build a small web app with a form + database that does one job extremely well—examples:
* notes → structured brief
* intake → task list + email draft
* meeting → decisions + next steps
You’ll ship it as a real app with a URL you can share.
We’ll use a **requirements-driven** flow: define the job, define “done,” lock constraints—and land a **deployment-ready web app** you can actually use and share.
**Cost:** $100
**What you need:**
* A laptop
* Willingness to follow along and run commands (paint-by-number style)
* Optional: a real workflow/problem you want the app to handle (there will be time reserved to run your own projects!)
**Workflow Examples:**
* content generation for marketing, branding, story telling, etc.
* report and brief generation
* chatbot generation & management
* camera stream curation, transformation
* much and many more (and you can bring your own!)
**Schedule:**
* **6pm-8pm:** We’ll get everyone running locally, then do a few tight iterations of the loop (**requirements → plan → build → run → improve**) until you’ve shipped a deployment-ready baseline. Repeat for each project.
* **8pm-9pm (choose-your-own):** Apply the same template to **your** workflow/problem. I’ll help you adapt the app(s) to your “X” and get you pointed at a clean next step (and optionally deploy if you’re not already live).
**Location**
McCully Library Meeting Area
2211 S King St, Honolulu, HI 96826
